Our Rural Electrification Project

A lot of African citizens lived in rural areas because they cannot cope with the expenses obtainable in the cities. The lack of access to vital resource like electricity has hampered economic progress and is widely considered to be a major contribution to the continued poverty in these areas.

Fortunately, Africa-Our-Happy-Home has joined few individuals and organisations to bring electricity to these areas. Generating power using diesel generator has proven to be an exceptionally versatile and robust method of providing moderate amounts of electrical generation. There are, however, some serious drawbacks to diesel generators for rural electrification. Fuel can be extremely expensive, or completely inaccessible.

Notwithstanding all these difficulties, Africa-Our-Happy-Home have succeeded in providing electricity to some remote areas in Africa.

We are currently exploring the use of solar. With the recent reduction in the cost of solar panels, solar electricity has become quite affordable and accessible. Solar electricity has the clear advantages of not requiring fuel, and its maintenance is simple.

As the cost of manufacturing and physical transportation for solar technology continues to decrease, deployment will increase and poor areas will benefit. The end result will be greater wealth across the globe. We in Africa-Our-Happy-Home is doing everything possible within our reach to reduce poverty in some of the most disadvantaged areas in Africa through provision of affordable power supply.
